She has gavitas and great depth of experience as a former public servant with 21 years in senior leadership roles across government. Her unique offering is that she bring an intimate understanding of the context, its complexities, how to navigate the terrain, build teams that perform, build capacity to transform dysfuctional behaviours in teams, join with her client and step into their world with great skill, immediacy and impact.
She is currently the CEO of Shanaaz Majiet Business Consulting, former Superintendent General/HOD for the Department of Local Government and Houing in the WC Provincial Government, former Deputy Director General for the national Department of Cooperative Governance and former Chairperson of the Accreditation Panel of Experts for the Department of Human Settlements. Shanaaz coach newly appointed Directors General and Deputy Directors General in the South African government as part of the National School of Government Induction Programme. She also coached high performing international and local clients in the financial services sector, parastals, non governmental sector, LGBTI movement, disability movement, women’s movement, international donor agencies, academic institutions, politicians, community, human rights activists, policy think tanks, social entrepreneurs and artists.

Mongezi is a Doctoral fellow in Organisational Psychology with the Commonwealth University in the UK and holds a BCom in Industrial Psychology and Business management, an MBA through the University of the North West, an MA in Coaching Psychology (Work-based Learning) from Middlesex University in the UK as well as a post-graduate certificate in group process consultancy (using the tavistock methodology) through the University of South Africa . He is an organisation development specialist, organisational learning expert & Executive coach with over 20 years experience in corporates and NGO's focusing on Human resources, talent management and change management. Mongezi is currently the MD of Mzantsi Leadership Development, and the director at The Africa Centre for Work-Based Learning, a professional development outfit that prepares people for entry into the professions. Mongezi believes that organisations grow because individuals within organisations grow. Organisations learn & change because individuals learn to change.
